Stacks is a search co-pilot tool that provides recommendations using the knowledge that is left hidden and forgotten in bookmarks, research notes, newsletters, and knowledge repositories across the platforms.

Stacks brings trust and a personalized touch from trusted knowledge sources to search results for high intent search relevance. Q: What is Stacks?

A: Stacks is an AI-powered search copilot tool that helps you easily access, manage and organize all your bookmarks and knowledge in one place. Stacks takes care of saving all your links in different stacks where you can easily access them yourself and share them with other people.

Q: What are stacks?

A: Stacks in Stacks are predefined smart collections where your bookmarks are automatically saved. They help you categorize and organize your saved links for easy retrieval and reference.

Q: What are collections?

A: Collections in Stacks are customized groups of bookmarks that you can create based on specific themes, projects, or interests. They provide a higher level of organization beyond the predefined smart collections called stacks.

Q: What are repositories?

A: Repositories in Stacks enable collaboration and sharing among a group of users. You can create teams to work together on projects, research, or knowledge sharing.

Q: How many repositories can I be part of?

A: In Stacks, you can be part of multiple repositories simultaneously. There is no limit to the number of repositories you can join.

Q: How many members can be in one repository?

A: Stacks offers multiple types of repositories depending on your account tier. The number of users that can join a repository can range from one person for a Companion repository to 25 for a Team repository and 2500 for an enterprise repository. All users are also part of a Personal repository by default where all their bookmarks are saved.

Q: How do I invite members to a repository?

A: To invite members to a team in Stacks, go to the Manage Team section of the settings and click on the Add User button next to the repository that you want to add a member to. You can then invite the members by using their emails where they will receive an invite link.

Q: How do I change the name of a repository?

A: To change the name of a repository in Stacks, navigate to the Manage Team section of the settings click on the Rename button next to it. Make the desired changes and save them to update the repository name.

Q: Who can see my information?

A: By default, in Stacks, your information is private and only accessible to you. However, you can choose to share specific bookmarks or stacks with your teams or individual users for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Q: What is the Activity tab?

A: The Activity tab feature in Stacks provides a chronological view of recent actions and updates within your teams and repositories. It helps you stay informed about the changes and activities happening in your shared workspace.

Q: How do I add a link?

A: To add a link in Stacks, you can use the browser extension, the website, or the mobile application. You can find how to do that on all of this below.

Q: How do I import my bookmarks from Chrome/Firefox/Edge?

A: Stacks allows you to import your bookmarks from browsers like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Simply export the bookmarks file on your browser and then import it to Stacks using the Import Bookmarks tool. If you install browser extension or addon, you can import bookmarks through our onboarding flow.

Q: How do I import my bookmarks from Pocket?

A: Stacks offers a seamless integration with Pocket. Export the bookmarks file from Pocket as shown on this guide, and then import it to Stacks using the Import from Pocket tool.

Q: How do I import my bookmarks from Raindrop or Diigo?

A: Stacks offers a seamless integration with Raindrop and Diigo. Export the bookmarks file (full backup) from Raindrop or Diigo with their export utility into an HTML format, and then import it to Stacks using the Import from Pocket tool.

Q: I can’t find a link after adding it.

A: Sometimes links take time to show up on Stacks, you can manually update the bookmarks list by clicking the Refresh button.

If you still can’t find a link after clicking Refresh, ensure you are searching within the correct stack or collection. You can also use the search functionality or apply filters to help you locate the link.

Stacking eliminates any need for guesswork when it comes to saving new bookmarks.

You simply add the new link with one click and let Stacks seamlessly save it into the appropriate stack.

Accessing Links in Stacks

Once your bookmarks are categorized into stacks, accessing them is a breeze. Stacks provides multiple ways to conveniently access your saved links:

1. Clicking on the Stack Label

Every saved link in Stacks is labeled to indicate its corresponding stack. By clicking on the stack label attached to a specific link, you can instantly view all the other links within the same stack. This intuitive feature allows you to explore related content effortlessly.

2. Left Pane Navigation

Stacks offers a user-friendly left pane navigation system. Within the left pane, you’ll find a comprehensive list of all the stacks in your Stacks library. By selecting a specific stack, you can quickly access and view all the links contained within that stack. The left pane navigation ensures easy and efficient browsing through your categorized bookmarks.

Adding Links to Stacks

Adding links to Stacks is a simple and intuitive process that allows you to save and organize web pages for easy access. You can add links directly from the web, use the Stacks web interface, or import bookmarks from your browser. Follow the steps below to learn how to add links to Stacks:

Directly from the Web:

a. Open the web page you want to save in your preferred web browser.

b. Look for the Stacks browser extension in your browser’s toolbar.

c. Click on the Stacks extension to open the Stacks interface.

d. Stacks will automatically capture the link and display it in the interface.

e. Optionally, you can add a note or select a specific collection to categorize the link.

f. Click the “Add Link” button to save the web page to Stacks.

Using the Stacks Dashboard:

a. Log in to your Stacks account and access the Stacks Dashboard.

b. Look for the “Add (+)”, located on the right side of the top toolbar.

c. Click the button to open the link addition form.

d. Enter the URL of the web page you want to save.

e. Optionally, add a note, and/or choose a specific collection.

f. Click the “Save” button to save the web page to Stacks.

Importing Bookmarks from Your Browser:

a. In the Stacks web interface, navigate to Settings.

b. Look for the “Import Bookmarks”.

c. Follow the steps on how to Export and Import your bookmarks on your browser.

d. Stacks will scan your browser’s bookmarks and display them in the interface.

e. Select the bookmarks you want to import into Stacks by checking the corresponding boxes.

f. Click the “Import” button to import the selected bookmarks.

From the Stacks Mobile App:

a. Open the Stacks mobile app on your smartphone or tablet.

b. Tap the “Add (+)” button, located at the top right part of the interface.

c. Enter the URL of the web page you want to save in the provided field.

d. Optionally, add a title, note, or select a collection to categorize the link.

e. Tap the “Save” button to save the web page to Stacks.

Remember, once you’ve added a link to Stacks, it will be automatically organized based on the AI-powered categorization algorithm or the collection/stack you specified. You can also edit the bookmark details, add notes, and further customize the organization of your links within Stacks.

Using Collections in Stacks — Organize and Streamline Your Bookmarks

In addition to Stacks’ automatic AI-powered categorization, you can also manually organize your bookmarks with Collections.

With Collections, you can create custom groups of related bookmarks, making it easy to find and manage your saved web pages. This page will guide you through using Collections effectively and provide real use cases to inspire you.

Creating a Collection:

There are 2 ways to create a new collection:

Creating a Collection from the Collections Section:

  • Navigate to the collections tab in Stacks.
  • Click on the “Add Collection” button.
  • Give the collection a title and optionally add a description.
  • Click the “Save” button to create the new collection.

Adding a bookmark to a Collection that doesn’t exist yet:

  • While adding a link to a collection (whether it’s a new link or one that’s already saved), type the name of the Collection you want to create in the search bar.
  • If the Collection doesn’t already exist, an “+ Add new” button will show up.
  • Click the “+Add new” button.
  • Finally, select Create.

Managing Your Collections:

  1. To view your existing collections, navigate to the collections section in Stacks.
  2. From here, you can rename, delete, or edit the details of your collections.
  3. You can also rearrange the order of your collections to prioritize them as needed.

  • Create a collection for each project you’re working on.
  • Save relevant web pages, documents, and resources to the corresponding project collection.
  • Easily access all project-related information in one place, ensuring efficient collaboration and organization.

  • Save articles, papers, and study materials to the respective collections.
  • Quickly retrieve and review information when working on research projects or studying for exams.

No need to navigate away from the page or open the Stacks website separately.

Simply click on the extension icon in your browser toolbar, and the current page will be instantly bookmarked in Stacks.

The browser extension also leverages Stacks’ AI-powered categorization algorithm to automatically assign bookmarks to relevant stacks.

As you save a page using the extension, Stacks will analyze its content and intelligently categorize it for easy retrieval later on.

Create a dedicated team repository in Stacks, serving as a centralized hub for collaboration. It allows you to organize and share bookmarks, collections, and stacks with your team, ensuring everyone has access to relevant information.

2️⃣ Share Collections and Bookmarks

With Stacks, you can selectively share entire collections or individual bookmarks with your team members. Choose the items you want to share and add it them your repository, enabling everyone in the team to view and interact with the shared content.

3️⃣ Collaborative Editing

Collaborate seamlessly with your team members on shared collections and bookmarks. Every team member with access to a shared item can contribute and make changes, fostering teamwork and ensuring that everyone can collectively update and improve the shared knowledge base.

4️⃣ Shared Notes

Utilize the Notes feature in Stacks to enhance collaboration. Leave a note on a bookmark that is accessible to all team members. This shared note serves as a collaborative space where team members can add information, insights, or important details related to the bookmark.

Sharing and Collaboration

One of the standout features of Stacks is its ability to enable link-sharing and collaboration with a partner or team on a shared bookmarks repository.

Depending on your account type, you can share links with one person or up to a team of 25.

To start sharing links, you’ll first need to add other users to your Companion or Team repositories. Here are the steps to do so:

Select Manage Team.

Find the repository you want to share (Companion or Team) and click on Add new user.

Type in the email address of the user you want to add and select Save. If they don’t already have a Stacks account, they’ll be invited to join.

The new user will show up in the list of the repository members but will have a status of pending before they accept the repository invite.

Once you’ve added users to the repository, you can start sharing links with them by following these steps:

Find the note you want to share and click on the Share button.

Select the repository you want to share it in and click on Save.
